It commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th and last Tirthankara (spiritual teacher) of Jainism. People celebrate Mahaveer Jayanti with friends and families every year. This Mahaveer Jayanti occasion falls on the 13th day of the Chaitra month (March or April) in the Hindu calendar, marking the arrival of Lord Mahavir into the world. It is also believed that on this day, the beginning of lord Mahavir’s divine mission to impart spiritual wisdom and guide humanity towards liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
On this day, people worship Lord Mahavir by carrying Lord Mahavira on a chariot for a procession or Rath Yatra. Performance Bhajan at the temple of community halls.
